Veterans Day, November 11th 2001, Harvard Yard

An honor guard including
members of the of the Reserve Officers Training Corps participated in
Harvard's commemoration of Veterans Day. The honor guard included
Harvard alumni Veterans as well as leaders and undergraduates in the Paul
Revere battalion of ROTC, which includes Harvard's ROTC
cadets. The observance was held on Sunday November 11th 2001 in Memorial Church in Harvard Yard. Reverend Peter J. Gomes, the Plummer Professor of Christian Morals at Harvard and Minister of Memorial Church, invited the ROTC battalion to participate. The cadets laid a wreath of laurel in the Memorial Room in memory of the Harvard dead of all wars. The attendance of ROTC cadets at the service was mentioned in an article in the Harvard Crimson, in which ROTC cadet Alejandro G. Ruiz ’05 was interviewed.
